An unwelcome and unexpected change from what is normal.
Abhorrent
Horrifyingly bad.
Allegory
A story which can be seen to have a hidden meaning (which is often about society)
Allusion
A hint at a bigger or hidden meaning.
Anxiety
A feeling of worry, nervousness or unease.
Atavism
A change back to the way your ancestors used to be.
(ie, becoming like a caveman)
Consciousness
Being awake and aware of one’s surroundings or your perception of something.
Debased
Reduced in quality or value.
Degenerate
An immoral or corrupt person.

Morally corrupt. Wicked
Duality
An example of a contrast between aspects of something (ie, man is both good and evil)

Moral rules which affect a person’s behaviour

A change from one living state to another

The corruption or ruin of something’s original state.

A person doing a job which requires a qualification

Fierce, violent, uncontrolled.

The part of the mind you’re unaware of, but which influences your actions).
Supernatural
Something outside the laws of nature – like ghosts, vampires, etc.
Unorthodox
Goes against what is normal or expected.
Victorian
Something which happened while Queen Victoria ruled.
