Fertilization
Fertilization is defined as the union of two gametes. During fertilization, sperm and egg fuse to form a diploid zygote to initiate prenatal development.
sperm
manufactured in the seminiferous tubules within each testicle. The head of the sperm contains the DNA,
gamete
a mature haploid male or female germ cell which is able to unite with another of the opposite sex in sexual reproduction to form a zygote.
fallopian tube

prostate
a gland surrounding the neck of the bladder in male mammals and releasing prostatic fluid.
vas defernes

blastocyst
a cluster of dividing cells made by a fertilized egg.
gestation
the process or period of developing inside the womb between conception and birth.
embryo
an unborn or unhatched offspring in the process of development, in particular a human offspring during the period from approximately the second to the eighth week after fertilization (after which it is usually termed a fetus).
implantation
Sexual intercourse at the time of implantation could theoretically induce a pro-inflammatory response that may interfere with embryo implantation.
placenta
an organ that forms in the womb, also called the uterus, during pregnancy.
umbilical cord
a feeding tube for the baby
prenatal care
medical care you get during pregnancy.
ectopic pregnancy
occurs when a fertilized egg grows outside of the uterus.
miscarriage
the unexpected ending of a pregnancy in the first 20 weeks of gestation.
