verbal irony
The definition of verbal irony is a statement in which the speaker’s words are incongruous with the speaker’s intent. The speaker says one thing, but they really mean another, resulting in an ironic clash between their intended meaning and their literal words.
metaphor
the implied comparison between two unlike things
motif
some sort of theme, charectar type, image, metaphor or other verbal emelent that recurs throughout a piece of writing.
EX: in the Alchemist, the SOUL OF THE WORLD, is a motif (so is personal legend)
oxymoron
a phrase combining two contradicting terms
EX:

a statement that appears to contradict itself
