Compound
A substance made of two or more different atoms that have combined chemically.
Matter
Anything that takes up space and has mass.
Liquid
The state of matter in which a substance has a definite volume but no definite shape.
Temperature
The measure of energy of motion on the particles of matter.
Volume
The amount of space matter takes up.
Gas
The state of matter in which a substance has no definite shape or volume.
Physical Change
A change in which the form or shape of a substance changes, but the substance still has the same chemical matter.
Solid
The state of matter in which has definite shape and definite volume.
Chemical Change
A change in one or more substances, caused by a reaction that formed new and different substances.
Mixture
A combination of two or more different substances in which two substances keep their identities.
Solution
A mixture that must be a same comparison throughout because all parts are mixed evenly.
Atom
The smallest unit into which an element can be divided and still retain all the properties of that element.
Element
Matter that is made up of one kind of atom.
