Cell theory
The theory that all organisms are made up of cells. All celled come from other living cells. Cell is te basic unit of life
Bacteria
Various groups of single celled micro organisms. They can be good or bad
Compound light microscope
Type of microscope usually used in science classes and medical labs to enlarge images
Diffusion
The movement of particles from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration.
Electron microgram
An image made by an electron microscope.
Eukaryotic
A cell type whose organelles are surrounded by a membrane
Metabolism
The total of all chemicals resction
Organism
A living thing
Osmosis
The diffusion of water particles through a selectively permeable membrane; particles move from an area of high concentration to a lower one.
Prokaryotic
A cell type whose organelles do not have membranes around them
Scanning electron microscopes
A powerful microscope that uses a scanner then converts it into an image
Selectively Permeable membranes
Membrane that allows some materials to pass through but it keeps others out
Viruses
Tiny non living particles. That can be good or bad for you. They can reproduce but only when they are in a host cell.
Difference btw unicellular and muticelular?
Unicellular - one cell, bacteria
Multicellular - many cells, humans
