Data VLAN - carries user-generated traffic
Native VLAN - Can be deleted, uses 802.1Q for untagged frames

What are the benefits of VLAN?
Reduces broadcast domain, enhances security, reduces cost, better performance, segmented
VLAN ID range
standard: 0-1001; extended: 0 to 4095; 0 not used, 1002-1005 used for FDDI
What is Dynamic Trunking Protocol (DTP)?
Allows a switch to negotiate between trunk and access
What switchports mode do you use in VLAN?
Access, dynamic auto, dynamic desirable, trunk
