What is a VLAN?
A
A Virtual network which runs on another network but acts as though it is its own network.

What hardware do you need for a VLAN?
A
Switch and router. (Hub would not work)

What are the advantages of VLAN’s?
A
They allow you to set different access levels for different VLAN’s.
You have two seemingly different netowrks for the physical cost of one.

A Virtual Private Network which is private but hosted on a public network.
