VL 8 konstruktiv learning Flashcards
What is PBL orientierte Instruktion? What are examples?
S. 15 Problem based learning Ex. Cognitive apprenticeship Anchored instruction Random access instruction
What is the Gestaltung Prínzipien?/ Konstruktion Instruktion
Problem orientiertet Unterricht that is authentisch und interactive
Articulation und Reflexion
Lernen im sozialen Austausch
What is a Cognitive apprenticeship as described by Collins, brown and Newman
Cognitive apprenticeship:Learning on the job from experts in daily situations- tutored by an expert,-master in steps, learn how to adjust to the different situations, etc
Methods: modeling, coaching, scaffolding, fading, articulation, reflection, and exploration
Motivation is needed to reach the last stages of the process
What is anchored instruction? CTGV
Problem of knowledge transfer
Students develop a problem and solution through an anchor point
Ex. Students develop research questions within a specific field(WWI) or how to save an injured eagle?
American style- starts with a real situation and works from there instead of starting with the theory and moving to reality
7 principles of narrative anchors page 20-21
What is cognitive flexibility or random access instruction?
Comes from expert research is better for the highest classes or the Uni often in medicine psychology and technical areas
Goal is to develop multifaceted knowledge that can be used in many contexts
Ex. Simulations or landscape criss-crossing- multiple contexts, perspective etc.
PBL and IL ( inquiring learning) in contrast to direct instruction
Pragmatic v. Theory
No one correct answer, no “truth”
Knowledge is Kontext dependant- changes constantly and is made for people
Focus on Process Not product
Self evaluated
Cooperative learning multi perspective
Authentic problem solving
Collective representation v. Individual representation of a subject- knowledge belongs to the group, is shared and therefore useful
Ex. What is a banana? As a group we reach a definition of banana my personal definition doesn’t matter
Result students reach higher levels of blooms, competence based results they can do something afterwards
Student centered teacher is a tutor, guide etc. but students do the “work” not focused on mistakes but on the process and growth
What are some of the problems of constructive learning
Declarative knowledge suffers to an extent Some students are overwhelmed Easy to do wrong Difficult to assess Takes more time to prep and to teach
Advantages to constructive learning
Higher blooms Motivation Struggling students have more success More positive focus As effective as direct instruction although less documented.
