Causes of Tachycardia
inflammation: fever- 1 degree = 10 bpm
Para/sympathetic- hyperthyroidism, anemia
Meds- anti depressants, asthma, diet
Cardiac abnormalities- MI, CHF
Causes of Bradycardia
Para/sympathetic- hypothyroidism
Meds- B blockers, Pilocarpine
Cardiac abnormalities- heart block
Blood Pressure
measures vascular pressure during and between heartbeats
Systolic
Diastolic
Higher during beat
Lower at rest
Normal BP
120/80
Prehypertension
