- Empty Bladder First
- Don’t Have a Conversation
- Use Correct Cuff Size
- Put Cuff on Bare Arm
- Support Arm at Heart Level
- Keep Legs Uncrossed

- Normal Artery (Empty, no fat present)
- Tear in Artery wall ( fat deposit in artery wall)
- Fat deposit in artery (full of fat except small circle)
- Narrow artery blocked by blood clot (small circle has blood clot)
Fat deposits hinder blood flow in the artery.
2,3,4 can cause high blood pressure
