Measurements of the body’s basic functions and checking for medical problems.
What is Body Temperature?
Temperature of a person (Average 98.6)
What is Pulse Rate?
Measures the heart rate
What is Respiration Rate?
Measures the number of breaths
What is Blood Pressure?
Force of blood rushing against arterial walls when the heart beats.
What is Pulse Oximetry?
Measure the amount of oxygen in the blood. (fifth vital sign)
What is Systolic Pressure?
Force of blood against arterial walls when the heart contracts.
What is diastolic pressure?
Force of blood against arterial walls when the heart relaxes

when body temperature is too high: heat exhaustion 101-104 and heartstroke above 104

when body temperature is too low below 95
