What are common causes of Hypothermia?
Environmental factors or an acute neurological condition
What are the three common temperature sites?
Oral
Peripheral (axillary or temporal)
Core (tympanic, rectal, or continuous core)
What condition is characterized by a body temperature above 37.3 Celsius (99.1F)?
Hyperthermia or Febrile
What steps may be taken to correct for hyperthermia?
Antipyretics or cooling measures

Palpation
Listening with a stethoscope

What is a normal heart rate for an adult?
60-100bpm
What is Bradycardia?
A heart rate of less than 60bpm
When would you expect to see asymptomatic Bradycardia in a patient?
If the patient is an athlete, sleeping, or sedated.
What are the common symptoms of bradycardia?
Dizziness
Decreased LOC
Chest pain
Shortness of breath
Hypotension
What is Tachycardia?
A heart rate of greater than 100bpm
What are common symptoms of Tachycardia?
Hypotension
Chest pain
Change in LOC
Shortness of breath
What are common causes of Tachycardia?
Pain
Fever
Blood loss
Hypoxia
Anxiety
Stimulants
Infection
Dehydration
