Define death rate
The number of deaths per 1000 of the population per year
Define infant mortality rate
The number of infants who die before their 1st birthday per 1000 of the population per year
Define life expectancy
The number of years that a person in a given population can expect to live - usually expressed ‘at birth’
Define fertility rate
The average number of children born to a woman over her lifetime, assuming she survives from birth to the end of her reproductive life

Immigration - emigration. The total number of people who enter a country minus the total number of people who leave per 1000 of the population per year
