Definition of accomodation?
Ability of the eye to change shape resulting in change of power
What is presbyopia?
Old age causing sclerosis of lens due to inability to focus on near objects
When assessing near vision, what distance should it be read at.

What is emmetropia?
Optically perfect eye
What is ametropia?
One parameter (cornea, lens, axial length) is less than perfect
What is myopia?
Short sightedness
Two causes of myopia?
Refractive myopia (power of eye is too much) Axial myopia (eye is too long)
How do you correct a myopia?
Add a divergent lens
2 causes of hypermetropia?
Refractive (eye power too little)
Axial (eye too short)
How do you correct hypermetropia?
Convergent lens
