What is quick -arming?
A function that allows the user to press the # key and the quick function button (eg # + 3-STAY) so the user doesn’t have to enter their four digit code every time.
STAY
Arms perimeter zones only and entry delay is on
INSTANT
Same as STAY, except entry delay is off.
NIGHT STAY
Arms perimeter zones and selected interior zones, entry delay is on
AWAY
Arms perimeter and all interior zones, entry delay is on
MAXIMUM
Same as AWAY, except entry delay is off
Can The user select zones to be bypassed while the rest of the system is armed?
Yes
CHIME
Alerts the user to opening of protected doors and windows while system is disarmed
What time does the system use to refer to specific areas of protection like front door or kitchen window?
Zones
What is partitioning?
The function that provides up to three areas of independent protection with each partition containing a group of zones that can be armed and disarmed without affecting other zones or users
What is cross zoning?
A system function designed so that a combination of two zones must be faulted within a defined time period of one another before an alarm occurs, designed to help reduce false alarms.
What is the default reporting delay before an alarm is sent to central monitoring? Can the delay be adjusted?
30 seconds, yes it can be removed or extended to 45 seconds depending on the user preference.
BYPASS
Appears when one or more burglary protection zones have been bypassed
AC / NO AC
Indicates whether or not AC power is present
BAT
Low battery condition in a wireless sensor if zone number is displayed, or low system battery if no zone number is displayed
CHECK
Appears when a malfunction is discovered in the system at any time, or if an open is detected in a fire zone at any time, or a fault in a DAY/NIGHT burglary zone during a disarmed period.
What is step-arming?
One of the lettered function keys can be programmed to provide a single button arming of the system with increasing levels of security based on the number of times the single button is pressed.
eg, if the a key has been programmed for step-arming,
First press, armed STAY
Second press, armed NIGHT-STAY
Third press, armed AWAY
What is a vent zone?
Zones which are automatically bypassed if left open when arming the system. If a vent zone is closed after arming, it becomes protected and will cause an alarm and opened again while the system is armed.
How many macro keys can be programmed into the Vista 20P?
Four (lettered function keys, only one macro can be assigned per key)
How many additional security codes can be entered for users apart from the installer and the master?

What are the authority level definitions
0 = standard user 1 = arm only 2 = guest 3 = duress code 4 = partition master (can do everything a standard user can do, and can assign security codes to users in their partition)
