Vision Flashcards
What is the pathway which light travels through the eye?
Conjunctiva -> Cornea -> Lens -> Iris -> Posterior cavity -> Fovea -> Optic disk -> Optic nerve
Identify which are the cones and rods.
What is the purpose of each?
Rods respond to any amount of photons and changes how much light the obsorbs. More active when there is less light.
Cones are less sensitive compared to rods and distinguish color.
What are the components of the outer ear?
Auricle
External Auditory Tube
Elastic Cartilage
What are the components of the middle ear?
Tympanic Membrane
Typanic Cavity
Auditory Ossicles
Oval Window
What are the components of the inner ear?
Semicircular Canals
Round Window
Vestibule
Cochlea
Vestibulochoclear nerve
Auditory Tube
What is this and what does it do?
Name: Sterocilia (small hairs)
Located in the inner ear within the Maculae in the Vestibule. When the hairs are displaced, the sensory nerves distinguish which way your head is oriented.
What are the components of the Utricle and the Saccule?
