Two Types of visas?
- Immigrant: People who intend to live permanently in the US.
- Non-Immigrant: Permanent Foreign Resident looking to enter the US for a temporary amount of time.

Extraordinary skills in science, arts, athletics, business.
Visas: H-1B Visa- -Rules? -Duration? -Immigrant or Non-Immigrant
H-1B: Specialty Occupation. Application of special knowledge to fully perform occupation.
Requires petitioner or sponsor- EE can only work that sponsor.
Terms of visa do not allow ER to place EE in a lack of work status. EE mst be compensated for any standard hours unpaid.
If EE is dismissed before the visa expires the EE must leave US immediately. ER is responsible for reasonable costs of return to home country.
Duration: Initial request maximum is 3 years, can be extended up to total of 6 years.
Non-Immigrant.

L-1: Intra-company Transfers. 2 types, L-1A (exec’s and managers, can be fast-tracked to permanent visa). L-1B (Specialized Knowledge).
- EE must have worked abroad for overseas company for 3 continuous years. Overseas company must be related to US based company in specific manner (affiliate).
- EE can bring their family.
- Total annual: 40,000.
- Duration: 3 year standard, L-1A can go up to 7, L-1B can go up to 5.

-Investors, either alone or with a spouse and unmarried children that have invested required amount of capital into a new commercial enterprise. Must demonstrate investment benefits US economy and creates required amount of FT jobs for US residents.
