The cardinal virtues are four virtues of mind and character that is a foundation or basic to living.
what are the cardinal virtues?
prudence, justice, fortitude & temperance
prudence
enabling people to discern what is truly best for them in each particular situation in life, and to
choose the right means of achieving it.

to make a choice without giving due thought to what is right in the situation and the best means to achieve it
