Guyot
A
Per Cory Empting, Guyot is a devigorating rootstock, which is why it is used in regions with high moisture such as BDX and Loire.
The spur is the revigorating part.
Harlan etc uses “mixed Guyot”, with alternating spurs and canes on their hillside plots.

Cory Empting finds cane pruned vines make for more refined and elegant wines, not sure why
