Episode 1- life with the widow and escape from Pap
Ch1-7
1-3: huck lives with the widow and miss Watson. He joins tom’s band of robbers but is disillusioned
4-5: Pap returns, demands money. Huck won’t give it to him and judge thatcher considers taking custody away but can’t. Pap takes huck to a secluded cabin
6-7: Huck endures pap’s abuse and eventually fakes his own death, fleeing to Jackson’s island
Episode 2: Jackson’s island and meeting Jim
Ch8-11
Chapter 8: On Jackson’s Island, Huck encounters Jim, Miss Watson’s enslaved person, who has run away upon hearing he might be sold. They decide to travel together.

Chapter 9: They discover a floating house with a dead man inside; Jim prevents Huck from seeing the corpse.
Chapter 10: Huck disguises himself as a girl to gather information in town. In the town he meets Judith Luftus. Judith eventually figures out he’s a boy but huck stays undercover
Chapter 11: Huck learns that people believe Jim killed him and that there’s a reward for Jim’s capture. Huck returns to Jackon’s island and flees with Jim
Episode 3: adventures on the river
Ch 12- 16
Chapters 12–13: Huck and Jim encounter a wrecked steamboat with robbers aboard. They escape with the robbers’ loot.
Chapter 14: They discuss kings and royalty, highlighting their differing worldviews.
Chapter 15: Huck plays a trick on Jim, making him think their separation in the fog was a dream. Jim’s hurt feelings lead Huck to apologize, marking a moral growth. loads of cognitive dissonance.
Chapter 16: They miss the mouth of the Ohio River, which would have led them to free states, and continue south.
Episode 4: the grangerfords and shepherdsons
Ch17-18
Chapter 17: Huck is taken in by the Grangerford family after being separated from Jim in an accident with the raft.
Chapter 18: He learns about the family’s feud with the Shepherdsons. There he meets Sophia, who after church asks him to go back and get her book (with a note to meet Harvey). He finds out that Jim is alive and well hiding out with other slaves. The feud escalates and many die, including Huck’s friend Buck. Huck reunites with Jim, and they escape.
Episode 5: The Duke and the King
Ch 19-30
Chapters 19–20: Huck and Jim meet two con men who claim to be a duke and a king. They join Huck and Jim on the raft.
Chapters 21–22: duke and king perform scenes from Shakespeare in a small Arkansas town, their performance is awful but the crowd Devise a new gimmick (royal nonesuch)
Chapters 22-23: advertise the royal nonesuch (not for ladies and children) and an attract a large male crowd. The king appears naked on stage to perform. The audience dont want to admit they were duped and decide to sell it to the rest of the town. The con men perform for three nights and flee with everyone’s money
Chapters 24–30: They impersonate the brothers of a deceased man to steal his inheritance. They pretend to be with the Wilkes and encounter colonel sherburn’s drama. Huck meets the Wilkes sisters and feels awful for what they’re doing. Huck, feeling guilty, exposes them and helps the rightful heirs.
Episode 6: Phelps farm and Jim’s rescue
Ch 31-43
Chapter 31: The king sells Jim to the Phelps family. Huck decides to rescue Jim, even if it means going to hell.
Chapters 32–33: Huck arrives at the Phelps farm, where he’s mistaken for Tom Sawyer. When the real Tom arrives, he pretends to be his brother Sid.
Chapters 34–39: Tom devises an elaborate plan to free Jim, filled with unnecessary complications.
Chapters 40–42: During the escape, Tom is shot. Jim sacrifices his chance at freedom to help him. Eventually, it’s revealed that Jim has been freed in Miss Watson’s will.
Chapter 43: Huck learns that his father has died and decides to head west to avoid being “sivilized” again.
