So that they had a good excuse to go to war as they were worried about communism
What really happened to the US destroyer?
Vietnam was attacked by a US destroyer at sea.

They had many tunnels of which had booby traps, fake tunnels, grenade tunnels and water tunnels to defend gas attacks.
Why did the US struggle to make progress?
Because the Vietcong had very good tactics and were just too vast that the US were struggling.

Guerrilla Warfare is a sneaky way of fighting such as raids or ambushing when you know the target isn’t aware.

A bomb that would spread and it was used to uncover secret hideouts that the Vietcong were using.

The US tried to bribe the Vietnamese by helping society and trying to persuade them to help the US. It was good in towns rather than rural areas.
