Upon learning the these terms, I will know how to properly format and annotate my screenplays. (31 cards)
Header
Title, draft #, date, page
GRAPHICS/MUSIC/EFFECT
Same format for all 3.
Font bold. ALL CAPS.
Describes each of these 3 elements going in and out.
SLUG/VIDEO
ALL CAPS, but not bold.
Describes setting of shot:
INT. SCENE - DESCRIPTION or
EXT. SCENE - DESCRIPTION
Action Paragraph
NOT BOLD, NOT in all caps.
Describes the action occurring within the scene
VOC
“Voice Over Character” - On Camera Narrator.
ALL CAPS. Not Bold.
Same format and position as CHARACTER NAME.
NARRATOR
Off Camera Narrator.
Formatted to the right of page (3.75).
(Parenthetical)
Your advise to the actor of how he or she should deliver the line.
Actors don’t like being directed from the script,
so use sparingly.

Identical to VOC
Dialogue
Immediately below character or voc;
see template for formatting
SHOT - DESCRIPTION
ALL CAPS, not bold
LS
Long Shot
Full body w/ some space above & below
MS
Medium Shot
Waist up
CU
Close Up
Head and shoulders…
Can be tips of shoulders, i.e. not collar bone
ELS or XLS
Extreme Long Shot
MCU
Medium Close Up
MLS
Medium Long Shot
too tight to be a long shot, but
ECU or XCU
Extreme Close Up
Does not have to be of the head.
Can be of an object or another part of the body.
Pan
Camera move - Horizontal
Stationary Tripod
Camera head moves side to side
Tilt
Camera move - Vertical

Lens captures tighter or wider area
