When and why is a CSV1 required?
When there is a victim but the police officer who spoke with them will be unable to attend he court to support the victim
When there is a victim and the matter will proceed to district court (or above) because the victim is entitled to specific services at the court
When there is a victim who will require an interpreter in court because their spoken English is not easily understood
When there is a victim and the matter will proceed to district court (or above) because the victim is entitled to specific services at the court
One of the principle laid down in the victims rights act 2002 guideline access to services to victims. In this respect Police must inform victims that:
That their on going needs as a victim will be met free of charge
That they are entitled to access to welfare, health, medical or legal services
That police will provide legal and welfare support they require
That they are entitled to access to welfare, health, medical or legal services
