What does harmonic oscillator tell us?
The spacing between energy levels dependent on mass and stiffness, but only works for small displacement
Why does harmonic oscillator only work for small displacement.
Larger displacement the bond will ‘break’ so k will decrease so v^ will decrease causing energy gap to decrease

How to calculate bond strength?
It will be k (spring constant), use equation relating them to molecular frequency and solve using wavenumber etc.
