Positive statements anthropomorphise God and is improper and disrespectful. Only positive statement about God we can say is that he exists.

Attributes of God could be expressed in negative terms helping people move closer to what God is.

Pseudo-Dionysius
Counter productive to speak of God as though he could be encountered by the Senses or reason.

People who genuinely want to find God should stop trying to find answers and allow God to speak to them in stillness or remain a mystery.

Question 2

Can only talk of what God is not. So we do not misrepresent him.
Idea of the reality of God is by continuing saying that God is not what anyone claims to be. The real God is behind what people claim him to be.
We cannot speak of God because our language is inadequate

‘God is immortal, we are saying God is not mortal’

Strengths = Saying things about God without saying that the finite can grasp the finite.It asserts the claims of revelation that God is good when instead we say God is not good because goodness is a human word and so doesn't convey God's transcendent reality. 
Weakness = Assumes the idea of a God. New way of speaking about God positively. We couldn't identify an object using only negative terms. Cannot describe God because there is nothing to describe.
