HIS OWN RECEIVE HIM NOT

John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

A

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

MANY JEWS BELIEVED ON HIM John 8:30-31

As he spake these words, many believed on him. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

HOW ARE THOSE THAT DID NOT RECEIVE HIM?John 9:28-29

Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses’ disciples. We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.

WHO ARE THE PEOPLE? John 9:15

Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see. 16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

SOME PHARISEES BELIEVED ON JESUS

John 3:1-2 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

THEY WANTED TO MAKE CHRIST KING

John 6:15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone
