What do you add with Words that end with short vowels like f, g, k, p, or s?
You add ‘ie’ and add an extra consonant before the ‘ie’ eg; sif =siffie, lag=laggie, hok=hokkie, pop=poppie, kas=kassie.
What do you do if the word has a long vowel and ends with f, g, k, p or s?
Drop one vowel and add ‘ie’ , eg; graaf= grafie, oog=ogie, kraak=krakie, streep=strepie.
What do you add if there are different vowels before the consonant at the end?
Just add ‘ie’ eg; brief=briefie, vliegtuig=vliegtuigie, park=parkie, stomp=stompie, fiets=fietsie.
What words will end with ‘jie’
Words that end in D or T eg; hond=hondjie, woord=woordjie, mat=matjie, maat=maatjie.
What do we add after l, n, r, i, u and ie?
‘Tjie’ eg; kraai=kraaitjie, leeu=leeutjie, straal=straaltjie, traan=traantjie, familie=familietjie, vloer=vloertjie.
When do we add ‘etjie’?

What to do with The two different ‘ng’
Add an ‘e’ eg; ring=ringetjie ( with etjie )
‘Ing’, drop the ‘g’ and replace it with a ‘kie’ eg; doring=dorinkie, koning=koninkie.
