Dynamic Verbs
verbs that show physical movement (to run, to hit, to move)
Stative Verbs
more abstract (I agree, I believe, I doubt, I imagine)
Modal Verbs
tells us more about the degree of certainty/necessity (could, would, should) modal verbs of: - obligation: need, must - necessity: should, will, ought - possibility: can, may, shall
Imperative Verbs
commands (go, mix, cook)
Auxiliary Verb
indicate the tense, mood, and voice of other verbs in a sentence (am, is, are, does do, it, has, have, had)
Finite Verbs
verbs that have a definite relation with the subject/noun and is usually the main verb in a sentence (can, must, have, be)
Non-Finite Verbs
cannot be the main verb of a sentence and is usually used as nouns, adverbs, and adjectives (We are ready to play now, I felt it difficult to comprehend, I needed a sound sleep to calm my mind)
Transitive Verb
carry an object and needs a noun to finish the sentence (I filled, I carried, I made)
Intransitive Verb
can stand alone and grammatically makes sense (I ran, I swam)
