Echoics
when a learner repeats a word, phrase or sound you say
Verbal imitation
ex: repeating words, sounds, phrases
“say ‘wow’” “say ‘hi’”
Motor Imitation
When a learner imitates your physical action or movements
show them what to do, but do not tell them
“copy me, do this, try this…”
Gross Motor Imitation
Whole body or larger movements
Fine Motor Imitation
Small movements in hands/wrists/fingers or feet/ankles/toes
Tacts
When a learner labels or comments about something in the environment; something they can see, feel, hear, taste or smell
LR (Listener Responding)
When a learner listens to your instruction and then responds physically accordingly
When we give a kiddo an SD like “touch your toes” and the child will physically respond by touching their toes
LRFFC (Listener Responding Feature, Function, Class)
When a learner listens to a description of something that we want them to do
“show me the one that has wheels” instead of “show me the truck”
VP-MTS (Visual Perceptional Match to Sample)
When you tell a learner to match an item to another item and they respond accordingly
Intraverbals
When a learner gives a verbal response to a stimulus that requires memory recall
“how old are you?” “what is mom’s name?” “what is your address?”
