Ventilation Flashcards
Ventilation for:
Avionics
Batteries
Lavatories, galleys
Ventilation system
Fully automatic
Uses two electric fans
Components
Fans: circulate air around avionics, fan speed controller (high speed above 40 degrees, low below 35 degrees)
Skin air inlet, outlet: cool air in, hot air out
Closed circuit
Skin air inlet and outlet closed, all air passes through heat exchanger
Open circuit
Air passes through skin air inlet, outlet
Intermediate config
Skin air inlet closed, skin air outlet partly open, cooling from heat exchanger
Blower, extract fault alert
Closed config with air condition valve open
Either switch pushed closes the opposite fan
Smoke config
Both buttons pushed
Air condition fan supplies cooling air, ducted via skin outlet partially open
Lavatory and galley
Extraction fan vents via outflows valve
Cargo ventilation
Extraction fan draws air from cargo bay, replaced by cabin air
Cargo temp regulation
Hot air bleed able to mix with cabin air giving control from cockpit
FWD cargo ventilation
Via inlet isolation valve, driven by fan or dP.
2 modes: on ground or dP less than 1, fan on. dP over 1 fan off, dP maintains ventilation
Controller closes valves and fan off when: FWD ISOL VALVE pb switch off, smoke detected
Aft cargo ventilation
Air via inlet valve by fan, ducted by outlet isolation valve and outlet valve
When isolation valves fully open, extraction fan on continuous
Valves closed if: AFT ISOLATION VALVE pb switch off, smoke detected
Aft cargo heating
Uses hot air bleed
Regulating valve regulates P of this supply, regulating valve controlled via HOT AIR pb on cargo heat panel
