Know the difference between natural, mechanical, supply, exhaust, and recirculation ventilation and which spaces each serve.

1. Supply - Air coming from the outside to the inside
- Installed - onboard ventilation systems (DO NOT USE RECIRCULATION OR A/C TO DESMOKE A SPACE)
- Natural - the natural flow of air; typically requires at least 02 weather openings
- Mechanical - ventilation manually brought into the space, e. g. box fan, ram fan, etc.
- Recirculation - Air moving inside without leaving the ship
- Exhaust - Air coming from the inside to the outside
Where are the five machinery ventilation cut-offs?
Zone 1-5
ALL on 2nd deck above their respective space
Zone 1: Diesel 1- inside vestibule down to Aux 1 — next to the port female 12 man
Zone 2: Diesel 2 inside vestibule down to Aux 2 (vestibule next to prop shop)
Zone 3: Turbine Room (just outside DCC 2nd deck
Zone 4: Motor Gear Room port side 2nd deck across the ladderwell to ECC) near the EM stores locker
Zone 5: Motor Room (port side of science horseshoe on stbd bulkhead just before making the turn
Where is the emergency ventilation cut-offs for the hangar and the Zebra ventilation?
