What are Veneers
Veneers are Thin extra-coronal restorations used to restore
or cover labial and buccal (facial) surfaces of
teeth.
What are the Indications for Veneers?
• Intrinsic staining or surface defects caused by
tetracycline staining, mild enamel hypoplasia,
hypomineralization, fluorosis
• Misshapen teeth e.g. peg-shaped lateral
incisor.
• Fractured incisal edge.
• Diastema & proximal spacing.
• Discoloured non-vital anterior teeth after doing
RCT.
What are the Contraindications for Veneers?
• Occlusal disharmonies, parafunctional habits,
severe attrition.
• Severely rotated or overlapped teeth.
• Severely discoloured teeth.
• Gross loss of enamel.
• Loss of substantial amount of tooth structure.
• Presence of large restorations.
• Lower incisor teeth.
What are the different materials used?
•Acrylic veneers (preformed e.g. Mastique)
• Composite veneers
• Porcelain veneers
