Velocity / Time Graphs Flashcards
What does a horizontal line on a velocity / time graph represent ?
A=v-u. 5
—- = —- = 1m/s squared
T. 5
What does an upward sloping line represent
It represents a positive acceleration ( increasing velocity )
What does a downward slope represent ?
A negative acceleration ( a deceleration, or a decrease in velocity )
What is the equation for calculating the distance travelled from speed (or velocity ) and time
Distance = speed x time
Area = length x width
Area of a triangle = base x height x half
Explain why you don’t need to carry out any calculations to work out the acceleration in stinks b,g,d
Those sections of graph are horizontal which means that the acceleration is zero
