What happens when several forces act on the same thing?
The unbalanced or resultant force is the total effective force that acts.
What is gravity?
Gravity is the force of attraction that acts between all masses. It is the force that holds the planets in orbits around the Sun and the Moon in orbit around the Earth. It is actually a very weak force and it only becomes apparent with very large masses like planets.
What is mass?
Mass is just a number that measures the amount of “matter” in an object. The mass of an object stays constant and you can only change it by cutting pieces off or adding pieces on.
What is the unit of mass?
kilogram (kg)
What is weight?
The weight of an object is the force with which it is pulled towards the centre of the Earth by gravity. Since weight is a force it is measured in newtons like any other force . Weight is not constant.

weight(N) = mass(kg) x gravitational field strength g (N/kg) (w=mg)
