blood clot causing an inflamed vein
if palpating a varicosity and it is hard / induration what is it?
thrombosis
where do you find the saphenofemoral junction?
2 fingers below and lateral to pubic tubercle
what are the two special tests when doing a venous vascular exam?
tap
trendelberg test
palpate - venous exam
temp
pitting oedema
palpate the varicosities
offer to palpate the saphena varix
general inspection - arterial vascular exam
hair loss? ischaemia to hair follicles
skin changes
colour - cyanosis due to ischaemia
