limitations of CT in eval of stroke?

A

It does not reliably detect infarcts of less than 4 hours’ duration and the extent of the infarct is often difficult to characterize.
Acute lacunar infarcts often go undetected and are typically impossible to distinguish from chronic lacunar infarcts.
