Start with validate barcode activity
Scan the barcode or type the NDC in
Is the NDC on the med list yet?
The window will show you if the med is on the med list. It will say no next to package on med list.
barcode preference list
A med could be on the preference list, but not on the med list this window will tell you once you scan the barcode under validate barcode
Validate barcode ADS
Scanning the barcode will tell you what ADS is assigned and if it’s built out in the formulary
Validate barcode cost
You need to check if there’s cost information when you validate the barcode
How do I know if a barcode med is on the med list?
If the preference List status is yes for the pharmacist preference list it is also on the central med list. If it’s not on the preference list, scroll down a bit to see if the medication’s on the med list.
What to check when validating a barcode
Check that the NDC has a cost
If loading to the carousel or Pyxis
1 Check that the drug has an ID
2 check that the ID is built in your dictionary for Pyxis and logistics
Adding an NDC to the med list

Copy the scan package from validate barcodes

Go to medication list admin open your sites med List click edit click add
NDC’s in formulary
It is not harmful to add ND diseases into the formulary
Paste the scan package into the find medication by NDC
Check the NC and red dot/yellow dot appropriately
What if it’s a new med and it’s not in your med list?
Check the NDC details
Check the Med is configured.
If configuration status is not yes.
If configuration status is not yes check with the project team before adding to med list
RBL and PLY
You should also check RBL PLY to see if the medication‘s fully configured.
What can you change as a med list, editor
Check Mark packages for PLYMOUTH
RED DOT WHAT IS THE DEFAULT PACKAGE?
YELLOW DOT WHETHER A FULL PACKAGE IS DISPENSED.
How to remove medications on the central med list and formulary med list.
Do this only for simple medication‘s.
Do not do this for mixtures leave for the project team
Shortage list
You have complete ownership of the shortage list to add a remove medication’s. Please work with the system on this.
Read only mode
If viewing the med list, use Read only mode. This will prevent accidental changes.
When done make the list read only again so other users can get in
