How to microchip?
1.) scan chip to make sure it matches the sticker
2.) Insert chip, making sure it went in
3.) record the microchip on patients sheet using the sticker, put the number in the patients file, and rabies certificate.
4.) write patients name on microchip package, place package contents and rabies tag in it and tape shut. give to paperwork people.
5.) paperwork people will paperclip baggie to sx day sheet
monitor pulse from….
femoral or carotid artery
Normal canine heart rate (under anesthesia)
80-120bpm
normal feline heart rate (under anesthesia)
100-180bpm
normal respiratory rate
10-20bpm
normal temperature
99.5 -102.5 (anything below 96 is dangerous!!!) (puppies and kittens most at risk)
