A
  • Vaccine Injury Compensation Program
  • All vaccines approved/registered by FDA
  • Fed Govn’t assumes all responsibility from vaccine manufacturer for litigating claims, assuming dispensed as approved:
  • -claims filed against secretary of HHS
  • -no fault basis
  • -litigated by dept. of justice
  • -special masters, US court of federal claims
  • -medical expert panel (special gov’t employees) - they determine if it does to the court or gets compensated
  • -0.75 surcharge for each vaccine dose

What does VAERS contain?

A
  • VAERS data contains coincidental events and those truly caused by vaccines.
  • between 2-6 months of age, kids are at greatest risk of high fevers, seizures, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Some will be from vaccines, some are coincidence.
  • Vaccine providers are encouraged to report all adverse events following vaccination, whether or not they believe the vaccination was the cause
