V speeds MPH Flashcards
Maneuvering speeds (Va)
Va = 145
Best rate of climb (Vy)
Vy = 105 mph
(same as Vyse “blue line”)
Best angle of climb (Vx)
Vx = 90 mph
That’s angle of climb, single engine (Vxse)
Vxse = 93 mph
Best rate of climb, single engine (Vyse)
Vyse = 105 mph “blue line”
Minimum Control speed (Vmc)
Vmc = 80 mph “red radial”
Minimum control speed with the critical engine inoperative. The minimum speed at which directional control can be maintained with the critical engine inoperative. Outlined in 14 CFR part 23, Airworthiness Standards. (Not to be confused with minimum controllable speed)
Stall Speeds (Vso / Vs1)
Vso = 69 mph
(dirty- flaps, cawl flaps, gear down)
Vs1 = 76 mph
(clean- flaps up, cowl flaps closed, gear up)
Normal operating speed (Vno)
Vno = 190 mph
Top of the green arc
Never exceed speed (Vne)
Vne = 217 mph
Red line on the airspeed indicator
Flap extension speed (Vfe)
Vfe = 125 (full flaps)
*10 degrees = 160 mph
*25 degrees = 140 mph
Landing gear extended speed (Vle)
Vle = 150
Max speed at which you can fly with landing gear extended
Landing gear, operating speed Vlo
Vlo = 125
Maximum landing gear, operating speed
Rotation speed
Vr = 85
