V-PREFLIGHT PLANNING Flashcards
IFR OPERATING MINIMAS
MTO conditions above minimas +/- 1h ETA
VFR OPERATING MINIMAS
MTO must be ok with VFR rules
MINIMUM FLIGHT ALTITUDE
Must not be less than those of the state overflown
Calculation should consider:
- accuracy of the position of the a/c
- accuracies of the altimeters
- characteristics of the terrain
- probability to meet bad MTO
- airspace restrictions
T/O ALTERNATE AÉRODROME
- aérodrome where an a/c can land shortly after t/o.
- 2 engines a/c : flight time 1h
- 3 or + engines a/c : flight time 2h
- ETOPS a/c : flight time 2h at 1 engine inop
- MTO at or above minimas ok +/- 1h
En-Route ALTERNATE AÉRODROME
- 1 for departure (if required)
- 1 for destination
ETOPS EN-Route ALTERNATES
- Sufficient alternates must je selected to remain in the ETOPS circles
- at least 1 Instrument Approach Procedure)
- MTO ok +/- 1h
DESTINATION ALTERNATE
=> mini 1 for IFR flights UNLESS:
1) flight time < 6h
2 runways avail.
MTO +/- 1h ceiling 2000ft or circling height +500ft
visibility 5km
OR
2) destination isolated without alternates: FUEL:
TRIP+CONTINGENCY+2h at CRUISE
PRECISION APPROACH
CAT I:
DH>200ft
RVR>550m
CAT II:
DH >100ft <200ft
RVR >300m
CAT III A:
DH <100ft
RVR >200m
CAT III B:
DH <100ft or no DH
RVR >75m <200m
NON PRECISION APPROACH
- instrument approach with MDH or DH >250ft et >750m when flying continuous descent final approach technique (CDFA)
FUEL AND OIL REQUIREMENTS
TAXI FUEL: startup and taxi TRIP FUEL: T/O to landing RESERVE FUEL: greater of A or B A: 5% trip fuel (3% if en route diversion avail.) 20min flying time Amount based on statistical method B: 5min holding at 1500ft above dest.
ALTERNATE FUEL: from diversion to alt. Landing FINAL RESERVE: - Turbines: 30min at 1500ft - Reciprocating: 45min at 1500ft ADDITIONAL FUEL: 15min 1500ft EXTRA FUEL: discrétion of commander
