Cystitis (Bladder) and Urethritis (Urethra)

Causative organisms
A
e.coli (gram +ve most common) s. saprophyticus (gram +ve – in young females)

Presents with?
A
Cystitis: Frequency, dysuria (pain – like passing broken glass), urgency, suprapubic pain, haematuria.
Acute pyelonephritis: fever, rigor, vomiting, loin pain/tenderness, costovertebral pain, septic shock
