Q

Radioactive trackers - what is it?

A

These can detect blockages and leaks, for example, in the kidney. The patient intakes water containing a small amount of radioactive isotope which makes the reading increase and the radioisotope can’t be excreted.

Q

Gamma Cameras - what is it?

A

A radioactive isotope of technetium is consumed by a patient which emits gamma radiation causing a detector to produce an image to map the functions of the body.
