What is the COMDTs UoF policy?
Only the force resonant necessary under the circumstances maybe be used. Excessive force maybe never be used. Force shall not be used where assigned duties can be discharged without it. Nothing in the application of the CG use of force policy shall be construed As to necessarily require personnel to meet force with equal or lesser force. Ch 4
Six Levels
Officer Presence
Appearance, demeanor, verbal and non verbal communication that creates and atmosphere of compliance.
Verbal Commands
Verbal commands in the form of task directions with consequences aimed at the subject
Controlled Techniques
Techniques of actions with a low probability of causing connective tissues damage, lacerations of the skin, or broken bones. These techniques include the proper use 9f restraints devices and pain compliance and strength techniques
Aggressive response techniques
Techniques or actions likely to result in connective tissue damage, lacerations of the skin, or broken bones, or that will produce irritation of the skin, eyeshadow and or mucous membranes. These techniques include kicks, punches, stuns, takedowns, and chemical irritants.
Intermediate Weapons
Techniques or actions with a high probability of causing connective tissue damage lacerations if the skin or broken bones. Including proper use of the expandable baton
Deadly force
Any force that is likely to cause death or serious physical injury.

Can you use deadly force on a fleeing felon
Permits the use of force including deadly force against an individual who is suspected of a felony and is in clear flight
If a subject two had committed a felony possesses a weapon and his fleeing deadly force is authorized if there is a clear field of fire
Is deadly force authorized to affect arrest
It must be lawful and the person has to be in a situation where they are trying to escape from that or may cause harm to other people
