In the USA, schools rely on property taxes for their funding. This means that wealthier areas (suburbs) are better funded than inner-city areas with high poverty rates. These poorer areas are typically predominantly ethnic minorities.

For example, degree education is much higher for whites (35%) compared to blacks (25%) and latinos (18%)

(9) One group that is more likely to experience inequality, in a world power I have studied is LGBTQ+ people.

Answer 3

LGBTQ+ people have had to fight for their rights for an extremely long time before any form of laws were created that decriminalised them. LGBTQ+ people get refused service in many different places, like at shops or at job interviews.

For example, in 2017, 8% of LGB people and 29% of trans people (and their children) came forward about being denied medical treatment.

(9) Another group that is more likely to experience inequality in a world power I have studied is women.

Answer 4

Women have historically always been viewed as “less” than men. Women had to campaign for many years to achieve the right to vote and to overturn many other sexist laws. Despite all of this progress, women still have to endure a pay gap between women and men.

For example, women have a higher poverty rate than men, women with 13% and men with 11%.
