  • Offered federal protection to unions: A national labour relations board was set up which supervised union negotiations and defended fired workers as well as helped unions gain recognition from employers
  • Strengthened labour unions - workers became legally entitled to join unions and could operate closed shops. Unfair practices such as company unions and firing union workers were banned.
