Example: in 2020 millions of people chose to vote for Joe Biden as president instead of Donald Trump
Point: older workers are more likely to vote
Explain: have grown wealthy and managed to benefit from cheaper housing
Explain: more likely to vote for someone who didn’t want to raise taxes so they could benefit from it
Example: in 2008 voter turn out for 45-49 was 70% in the presidential election

Explain: in the USA whites have always had the vote so it’s more traditional for them to vote
Example: more likely to be wealthy with higher levels of education- linked to higher voter turnout

Explain: many young people in America don’t vote because politicians haven’t felt with issues relevant to young people (high costs of healthcare, university and large number of school shootings)
Example: always been the lowest with 18-29 year olds highest percentage being 50% and 60+ having 70% as highest
