What was the role of women in the US in WWII?
They filled in jobs at factories while the men were away fighting in the war.
How did WWII bring the US out of the Great Depression?
The new factories that made war supplies created new jobs, and that boosted our economy and pulled us out of the Depression.
What is the date of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor?
December 7th, 1941
The ability to do what better than the enemy brought the US victory?
We were able to out produce the enemy.
What was the purpose of D-Day?
To invade Europe/ Germany/ France.
What does Rosie the Riveter represent?
She represents the women who worked in the factories and helped us win the war and women’s independence.
Why did the US put Japanese-Americans in internment camps?
We were afraid that the Japanese that lived in America would turn against us and spy on us for Japan.
Why did the US drop an atomic bomb on Nagasaki?
We dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima first, but Japan still wouldn’t surrender.
What does VE stand for?
Victory in Europe
