Cooperative- marble cake- federalism is based on a pragmative mixing of authority and programmes among the nation, state, and local governments
Define a Confederal system
All states get power- national government is weak
What are the advantages of a confederal system?
- people are not controlled by higher ups- couldn’t raise taxes
- gives states autonomy- issues particular to them specifically
- avoids tyranny, could promote cohesion
What are the disadvantages of a Confederal system?
-weak president
-can’t regulate issues between different states
- lacks direction and leadership
What has the legislature got the power to do?
Pass laws, declare wars, impeach presidents, federal affairs

veto bills, sign bills in to laws, commander in chief
What are the judiciary powers?
decides what laws are constitutional , can deem law unconstitutional
