- communicating - common in newborn males
- non communicating - excess fluid prod within tunica vaginalis
Presentation
- soft, non tender swelling confined to scrotum
- transillumates
- difficult to palpate testes
Diagnosis - clinical but can use US if in doubt
Management
- infants - surgical repair if no resolution in 2 years
- adults - conservative

Diagnosis confirmed with US
Management - supportive
-surgical removal for larger, symptomatic cysts

Normally aymptomatic but can cause infertility
More common on left
Bag of worms on standing
Infertility
Diagnosis - Doppler studies
Management - conservative
-surgery if causing pain
